The new-gen Bajaj Chetak has been clicked for the first time on camera with prominent styling updates and newer cycle parts
Bajaj Chetak is one of the most popular and highest-selling mass market electric scooters in the Indian market. It is presently retailed in two variants namely 35 Series and 30 Series. However, it appears that the Pune-based two-wheeler brand has already started working on the new-gen Chetak electric scooter. The first-ever spy images of the upcoming Chetak e-scooter by Rushlane confirm the same. Though it is quite early to comment on the exact launch timeline, we can expect it to go on sale by mid 2026 in the Indian market.
Going by the spy pics, the new-gen Bajaj Chetak will come with cosmetic overhaul while several cycle parts are also likely to be upgraded. As the unit seen in the images is wearing heavy camouflage, it is hard to figure out the design updates. Bajaj has retained the original silhouette of the Chetak with the new-gen model as well.
First things first, the LED tail-lamp cluster at the rear seems to be completely restyled as we can see a single-piece unit which has integrated LED turn indicators and brake lights. The new-gen Chetak gets a rear tyre hugger while the registration plate holder is also repositioned. The charging port is not clearly visible as it could be hidden behind a flap. It is quite possible that Bajaj could have moved it towards the front apron.

The side body panels also seem to have gone under the hammer. The rear grab rail, LED headlamp with DRLs and seat has been carried over from the ongoing model. The Chetak logo, however, makes way for ‘Chetak’ lettering. The turn indicators at the front have been positioned in the handlebar instead of the apron. The Rushlane report claims it to be a mid-spec variant, which could be christened as the next-gen Chetak 3502.
The spy shots also reveal the inclusion of a front disc brake and hub mounted electric motor at the rear wheel. Presently, none of the Chetak variants boast of a hub motor at rear wheel. The unit captured on camera also misses out on multiple premium features such as keyless entry, TFT instrument cluster, and single-sided front suspension setup. Instead, it features a LCD display which is not in circular shape. Also, traditional dual telescopic front forks are visible.

The new-gen Bajaj Chetak is likely to continue with the existing 3 kWh and 3.5 kWh battery packs with maximum range of 150 km on a single charge. Also, Bajaj might offer cutting-edge safety features in the higher variants of the new-gen model. Stay tuned to this page for more info on the same.
